RMS Outage & UpgradeThe Residential Management System (RMS) will be upgraded on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The outage begins at 6 p.m. on Sept. 27 and lasts as late as 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29. This affects RMS Classic and Mercury 2.0, iLiveOn (student and admin portals) and Wonderbodies (ordering website only). Do not attempt to log in to these systems until you receive an email stating the upgrade is complete.

Network Outage: Owen/McDonel halls, Sept. 25, 5:30 a.m.The following message is for RHS partners in Owen and McDonel halls regarding a network outage Monday, Sept. 25, at 5:30 a.m. Following message was sent by MSU IT Sept. 22: You are receiving this message because the network switches in Owen Hall and McDonel Hall will undergo a firmware change Monday, Sept. 25, at 5:30 a.m. What is happening? MSU IT is changing the firmware in the network switches in your building to ensure proper functionality. This will require the network switches to be rebooted, causing an estimated downtime of 15 minutes. Although we expect the downtime to last 15 minutes, we reserved a window between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. for any unexpected circumstances. What do I need to do? If you experience a service disruption after 7:30 a.m., please contact the IT Service Desk at ithelp@msu.edu or 517-432-6200. We will have staff available to assist you and your teams. Outage: Power 7, Sept. 22, 5 p.m.The Food Stores Logistics and Supply Chain Management system (a.k.a. Power 7, System I, AS400) will undergo maintenance beginning Friday, Sept. 22. This affects the Food Stores, Laundry and MSU Bakers ordering websites. Document imaging systems used by RHS HR and PPO Health and Safety will also be affected. The systems will be unavailable from 5 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday. There should be no obvious changes for users. Consider the scheduled outage when placing orders to prevent delays in procurement and delivery. If you send emails for add-ons, Food Stores, Laundry and MSU Bakers will be unable to access the system during the outage. Place needed online orders at the Food Stores website (food.rhs.msu.edu) prior to planned outage. Please contact the IS Help Desk at the number listed below if you have additional questions.

Sun SystemIS will perform a Sun System upgrade Thursday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Access to the Sun system will unavailable during this time. An email will be sent to affected users when the upgrade is complete.

Limited Tech SupportInformation Services team members will begin moving to 1855 Place Monday, Sept. 18. The first team to move is Tech Support, which means their workstations and entire shop of hardware supplies will be in transition to the new building from Sept.18-20. The techs will be consumed with stocking shelves, setting up their own workstations and traveling between buildings.

• Tech Team emergency services will remain available, but the team will be unable to respond to standard requests for equipment, repairs, replacements or purchases during this three-day period.
• Routine service tickets may still be submitted, but no action will be taken on them until the move is complete.

All other departmental services, including the Help Desk, accounts and access, business and creative services, and software and application support, will be unaffected during this time.

Ultratime MaintenanceThere will be an outage of all UltraTime systems (including the scheduling system and reporting) hosted on RHS servers from 12-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, for UltraTime database maintenance. This is the final stage of urgent work to be completed to remedy the space issues communicated last week. You should be able to log in to UltraTime after this outage window. Time clocks will not be affected by this outage.
