Windows Updates -- Aug. 16Please leave all RHS computers and laptops on throughout today (Wednesday, Aug. 16) and overnight so that, around 10 p.m., they can process Microsoft Windows updates. Help out by turning on unattended computers in your area or computers in training or conference rooms. Updates increase system stability and address security vulnerabilities. Failure to leave computers on overnight may result in start-up delays or unexpected reboots. You can also run Windows updates manually. Click Start > All Programs > Windows Update > Check for updates, then follow the prompts. Thank you for your partnership in keeping RHS computers running securely and efficiently. Sequoia QuadPoint Upgrade Aug. 15Information Services will upgrade Sequoia QuadPoint software beginning at 5 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15. The upgrade is expected to last at least four hours. During the upgrade, registers will continue to operate normally and campus accounts will authenticate to the Blackboard Transact server for meal plans and Spartan Cash. Scheduled reports will be delayed and may have to be run manually once the upgrade is complete.

• This upgrade will implement new features and capabilities needed at 1855 Place retail operations and improve overall system performance.

• As with all QuadPoint upgrades, all registers and Point of Sale systems must be powered on and remain running during the upgrade period.

Outage RMS, Mercury, iLiveOnThe databases for the RMS / Mercury systems will be upgraded Friday, Aug. 11, beginning at 8 p.m. The upgrade is expected to take approximately eight hours. During this time, RHS team members will not be able to make changes in these systems. Student visitors to the iLiveOn website will also be affected and will see a “Maintenance in Progress” message.

• This upgrade is required for the upcoming September transition from RMS to Mercury 3.0.

• As with all technology upgrades, there is a potential for technical difficulties to arise. If so, the databases will be returned to their original state. No data will be lost, but the outage could be extended.
